FAQ's for Advertising Balloons or Blimps

How high do blimps fly in the sky?
The maximum permitted height by the Civil Aviation Authority is 198 ft.

How far away can people see the blimp?
From 2-3 miles depending on the location of the site and the prevailing weather conditions.

Can people read what's on the blimp?
Providing you keep the logo or branding brief so we can get it as big as possible.

Can we leave it up flying at night?
No - the CAA stipulate the blimp must be brought down at night time and in bad weather.

What if we don't have enough room to store the fully inflated blimp?
As the blimp is 20 feet/6 metres long it can be stored in a standard sized shipping container and we can arrange for one to be delivered to your site.

How much helium gas will a blimp this size need?
Only two large cylinders. You inflate the blimp using one and a half cylinders which leaves half a cylinder to top up.

How often will we need to top up?
On a daily basis in the winter because helium gas contracts in the cold, but because it also expands with the heat; less often in the Spring and Summer.

Do we need a winch to put it up or bring it down?
No - just a pair of strong riggers gloves. You have far more control over the blimp if you bring it down by hand.
